JACKSON, Miss.— The Delta State University Alumni Association invites all Jackson area alumni and friends to two events happening on Thursday, March 21. Alumni can kick off the day with the Boo Ferriss Golf Classic and close it by winding down at the Greater Jackson Area Alumni Chapter Happy Hour.

The second annual Boo Ferriss Golf Classic will be held at Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison with all proceeds benefitting Delta State Athletics. There will be morning and afternoon tee times. Participants will have a variety of ways to enjoy the event, including golf, lunch, beverages on the course, contests, and a post-play awards reception. Each player will also receive a player tee gift. John Polles ’05, Alumni Association Board of Directors Member and Delta State Baseball alum said, “This marks the second year of the Boo Ferriss Golf tournament, and we’re thrilled and deeply grateful to all sponsors and participants. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support the university we all love so much. Coach Ferriss was not only an extraordinary man but also the epitome of a Statesman. We feel privileged to name this tournament in his honor. The support from participants and sponsors is invaluable to our university and the future of our athletics program.”

Greater Jackson Area Chapter President Dean Arnold ’19, ’21 has partnered with Jeff Arnold ’92, owner of Basics of Jackson, to host an Alumni Happy Hour. This free event will be held from 6-9 pm and will include drinks, appetizers, and fellowship with those who have a love for the green and white. “As a young alum of Delta State University, I feel as though this happy hour is going to be a great avenue for us to connect with each other and build community with other alumni in the Jackson area that care about Delta State University”, said Arnold.
